Alright, i gotta admit. Before Day 3 aka today, i would have just kept my post simple and sum it up in 3 words ' THE CAMP SUCKS'. However, Day 3 completely changed my view on this Sec 1 camp. So you can treat this as a warning that this post will be really long complete with pics (:
Day 1Classes met group leaders, group leaders met classes. On the first game we played, the response wasn't really good and many were complaining that they didn't like this camp. Settled in their dorms and i got to know them better as Johanna actually took them as a peer lite. Played a few more games and response was getting better. Made sure lights were off by 1130 and the comittee went for a debrief. None of us were ever prepared for how long the debrief was going to be, it lasted from about 1130 till close to 1. All of us were dying cause we were so tired running about and we were still kinda, in a sense what Melvin said, still kinda raw. slept at around 2am plus
really cool rainbow reflection that rachel pointed out to me

2.3 wrote this on their board when my class first shifted to their dorm. so evil

Day 2Most tiring day of all i must say. The sec 1s headed to Sentosa for their games and i think all group leaders were exhausted from trying to keep the class together and making sure they dont stray and all. Still, had a fun time. My class, 1.2 went totally high when it came to the parent's appreciation night. Melvin told the whole Sec 1 group that they could sleep by 1230 that night and wake up at 10. It was a total lie. Once again, debrief was insane. It lasted till way past 1am. All of us slept around 3am and had to be ready by 730am the next day.

'campfire' in hall. lol
Day 3We purposely woke them up at 8. Had to act strict and made them get to the track by 805am. It was crazy during 5BX. I felt so mean and evil but it was what Melvin told us all to do so we had no choice. Facilitator Jocelyn was in charge and she really made it hell for them. But it was to train them for the leadership thing and all. So finally, everyone packed and cleaned up. All sat in the hall one of the facilitators told me to focus on the stage where 12 ppl were sitting there who were specially called up by Melvin and something so nice and touching happened that almost the whole committee was in tears which in my whole life i would never expect to see!

Well, overall just thinking about it now as i post, this whole camp has been really enriching and i learnt quite a bit from it. Though the planning was something i wasnt really involved in, i think the result you get after successfully organising a camp is really satisfying. To see all those happy faces and cheering so loudly, it's just so satisfying. And this camp also changed my not-so-good perspective on the Sec 1s.
I'm really grateful to all facilitators, just to name a few Melvin, Jocelyn, Wayne. Wayne helped me in drumming and Sharon in strumming while practicing for singspiration. That really helped alot (: And i got to know my classmates better and got to know more new friends (:
therefore, that's my reason for deleting that old postAnd to my dear class 1.2
I just knew you all like for a few days cause Johanna knew you all way before that. You all just changed my view on the whole Sec 1. Seriously, i didn't like the Sec 1 group at first. But you guys are a really nice bunch, being so enthusiastic and all. Glad you got first and most importantly! Enjoy your Sec 1 and 2 life while you can cause if you think Sec 1 life is insane already, you are terribly wrong. And btw, i think i told some of you to never organise camps cause it's crazy but i wanna say that though the process and planning is mad, the satisfaction of a successful camp is indescribable (:
After that, went to Chinatown for dinner
gay bar! lol (hint: the rainbow flag. haha)
