I was just reading Dan Brown's Angels & Demons and i came across these interesting pages. I know, you must be thinking that this book is like promoting anti-christ, what can be so interesting about it?!?!

b: Omnipotent-benevolent imply means that God is all-powerful and well-meaning
a: I understand the concept. It's just...there seems to be a contridiction
b: Yes. The contridiction is pain. Man's starvation. war, sickness...
a: Exactly! Terrible things happen in this world. Human tradegy seems like proof that God could not possibly be both all-powerful and well-meaning. If He loves us and has the power to change our situation, He would prevent our pain, wouldn't He? If God loves us and He can protect us, He would have to. It seems He is either omnipotent and uncaring, or benevolent and powerless to help
b: Do you have children?
a: No
b: Imagine you had an 8 year old son... would you love him?
a: Of course
b: Would you do everything in your power to prevent pain in his life?
a: Of course
b: Would you let him skateboard?
a: Yeah, i guess. I'd let him skateboard, but i'd tell him to be careful
b: So as this child's father, you would give him some basic, good advice and then let him go off and make his own mistakes?
a: I wouldn't run behind him and mollycoddle him if that's what you mean
b: But what if he fell and skinned his knee?
a: He would have to learn to be more careful
b: So although you have the power to interfere and prevent your child's pain, you would choose to show your love by letting him learn his own lessons?
a: Of couse. Pain is part of growing up. It's how we learn
b: Exactly

Well, that dialogue i guess was pretty long. If you've read till the end, good for you. Otherwise... well i can't be bothered to write that otherwise bit. Anyway this dialogue really can clear up all misunderstandings that people might ask why are there natural disasters that kill so many people each time, easily up to thousands and thousands. Or why can't life be smooth-running all the time, 24/7 if ppl say there's a God in this world who will protect us from everything.

Didn't go for the pl's musical audition today cause most sec 3 ld ppl wanted to be crew, more fun mah so me, julia, gracelynn and lane went for a photography 'trip' to lil india. pics coming up! soon hopefully when julia sends them to me (:
